‡class curriculum‡
Hello there! This is a class directory for Canas' magic class. Since it would be really boring to do every single class as a log (repeat practices, boring exercises, the like) and I'm only going to make logs for interesting topics, I have Canas' class curriculum right here for you to look at in case you want to know exactly what your student character will be learning over the course of the year. I will also link all class logs that he's hosted.
Mind you, I'm just listing the topics he's covering per month. Your student should have learned something relevant to the topic he was teaching at the time if they showed up. I'm not listing class per day, per week, but you can assume that a topic may span for about two weeks each unless there are more than two topics under a month. If your character is taking the class with prior knowledge of magic, Canas will always provide them with a challenging scenario to better their skills related to the magic they are currently learning. If your character is new to magic and has no prior ability, Canas will be supplementing them with magically imbued aid items that draw from what little magic they have within them. Think of it as a training aid that actually allows their body to use the small amount of magic they have. If they progress and Canas thinks they are ready to go without the supplementary items, he will take it from them and they will be able to use magic without an aid. Remember, magic is depicted in many games to be a difficult thing to learn. This is why I'm assuming that newbies to magic will have a lot of difficulty, hence why Canas has provided them with items to magnify their small amounts of magical ability. Canas also assigns a lot of homework. Sorry. If you have any questions, please ask me!
Anyway, here you are!
January 2012
# Intro to basic healing; continuing focus on healing spells
# Magical languages and reading
February 2012
# Speaking incantations [Part 1]
# Levitation: honing your focusing abilities
March 2012
# Speaking incantations [Part 2]
# EXAM TIME* ((lasts about 3 days))
# Supernatural forces: drawing from their power
April 2012
# Application of incantations: hexes and curses
May 2012
# Visibility and invisibility
# Magical relocation and teleportation
Beyond this, I don't have the class schedule updated. As months pass, I will update it with more foresight. Be aware that this schedule can change if an event impedes on the learning environment of Smash, wherein Canas may teach something he thinks is more important or be forced to push the dates of things back. I hope this helps!
*Canas' exams aren't hardcore. He'll give your character a time slot that he will expect to meet with them and ask them to demonstrate to him what they know about a topic when prompted. For example, he might ask your character, "Would you show me a curing spell?" granted they know one. He understands the levels of his students and will test them accordingly.
